One of the most common interview questions we hear is, "Where do the ideas for new businesses come from?" And the answer is, "Our employees." These business ventures have grown directly out of research and experimentation by Cogo staff, and are in the final stage of preparation for life as independent startups.
Cogo maintains an ongoing relationship with startups in the Link Ventures portfolio, including businesses that grew directly from Cogo projects and those that arose from Link's external partnerships. In both cases, Cogo offers technical and analytical assistance, as well as entrepreneurial expertise, to help these new companies refine their product offerings and quickly grow to self-sufficiency and beyond.
The end goal behind our incubation and growth strategies is to exit the company, either through private sale or an IPO. When this happens, we return a significant amount of the proceeds to our employees through equity bonuses and use another chunk to fund the next generation of Cogo business ventures. A win for Cogo is a win for all.
